The best leaders I've ever known and who have inspired me have always had a terrific sense of humor. Does it mean they're always laughing? No. But they know that a generous amount of fun and a lighthearted perspective, even in stressful situations, goes a long way for everyone involved.
I'm honored to know someone who helps leaders learn how to use humor more effectively for teams in the workplace, and educators and students in our school systems. And yes, she's very funny!
As Mary Kay Morrison says, we're humor beings. She has her own company, Humor Quest, and she is also currently president of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor, which is where I had the joy of meeting her.
AATH is for everyone. I was amazed at the diverse backgrounds of people who were at the conference I attended; anyone from scientific researchers to teachers to professionals to entrepreneurs and speakers. It was one of the best conferences with the most amazing people I've ever encountered at one. And I've been to a lot of conferences. Consider going next April. I am. And yes, you, too. It can be a life changer. And probably will be.
